Air Force Museum
November 23, 2009
Come to the Air Force Museum of New Zealand for a fantastic family day out.
The Air Force Museum can keep the whole family entertained with free admission and heaps of activities on offer. There’s something for everyone from guided tours, flight simulators and holiday programmes, to a family fun kite day and the annual open day Warriors at Wigram 2010, complete with flying and static displays.
The special Air Force Adventure – a behind-the-scenes tour which runs daily on the weekends – is where kids get to earn their own set of pilot wings. And everyone, big kids included, loves the Mosquito flight simulator. Imagine flying above the Norwegian Fjords in a WW2 Mosquito bomber in search of enemy battleships.
The January holiday programme, Time Detectives, is sure to be a hit, as well as other great events that will run during the summer months. And don’t forget the Air Force Museum’s big annual event, Warriors at Wigram 2010. This February’s Warriors at Wigram 2010 will feature flying displays by the Royal New Zealand Air Force alongside displays by the Royal New Zealand Navy and New Zealand Army.
Visit www.airforcemuseum.co.nz for details, Air Force Museum of New Zealand, Wigram, Christchurch. Free admission, open daily, 10am to 5pm.
