Here in Auckland the fun doesn’t stop just because it’s winter! There are some great family-friendly events to check out these holidays right through to September. Whether you’re keen to check out the latest in sports, crafts, science or dance, the events below offer something for everyone.
4 September
Celebrate spring at the Ellerslie Spring Fairy Festival! This totally free community event brings the enchanted fairy kingdom to Ellerslie’s main street for a magical celebration. Visit www.ellerslie.net.nz/fairyfestival.
17 September

18 – 19 September
The Auckland Pet & Animal Expo at the North Shore Events Centre celebrates pets and animals and the positive role they play in society. There will be plenty to see and do for all ages. Visit www.petanimalexpo.co.nz.

Be a part of Auckland’s Heritage Festival, an annual celebration of the city’s heritage with more than 100 exciting, diverse and interactive events. Visit www.aucklandcity.govt.nz.
15 – 17 October
Dunkleys Great New Zealand Craft Show is the nation’s premier craft event where more than 100 specially selected craftspeople display and sell their work direct to the public. Everything for sale, commission free, plus a full timetable of craft workshops where you can learn from the experts. 10am till 5pm daily, with ticket sales at the door.
