Shopping on the Internet

The Internet is not only the biggest worldwide information resource it is a great way to shop. If you can work out how to use it then it can provide you with a lot of benefits. A worldwide store in your own living room. No reason to go out on a cold day and spend hours trying to find a car park.

Your computer mouse will take you to the shops not your car, saving on petrol and parking money. If you have kids Internet shopping means not having to worry about a meltdown if you don’t buy them the lollies strategically placed at their level at the counter.
Search engines.
· Google Search engine returns keyword search results based on relevance of content and the number of links to a particular URL from other sites. www.google.com
· Google offers the option to restrict search to New Zealand websites www.google.co.nz
Directories
Instead of search engines you can also use directories or hubs, that show you where to find information. A pregnancy, childbirth and baby related one for New Zealand is BabyWebNZ www.babywebnz.org If you click on the site names in the shopping section it will take you direct to that web site.

Also look at family and parenting based publications, in Family Times advertisers will often list a web site so you can look at their products online.

There is a lot of great New Zealand pregnancy, baby and child related products, and therefore I cannot list them all in this article. I am not endorsing the products on the following web sites; the site descriptions are from the retailers themselves. Here are some examples of products you can buy online.
